SAINTES - The Trap (That Keeps You Close)

 By Libby Driscoll

Showcasing their third single in anticipation of their debut album, Sheffield’s own SAINTES set to release The Trap (That Keeps You Close) Friday 26th November

SAINTES - The Trap (That Keeps You Close)

Fronted by Will Kitching, the northern lads are joined by vocalist Annie Vorha in their latest punky endeavour, sparking a unique sleek and sexy edge in modern rock ‘n’ roll. Outlining flashes of comfortable familiarity, The Trap (That Keeps You Close) feels like the matured lovechild of Jack White and Band of Skulls, nodding its head to a level of influence whilst pioneering its own inimitable path.

Sparking up with a tightly produced 6/8 drum beat, the whir of a bluesy lead guitar and a stocky overdriven bass torment the intensity of the awaited track. Joined by fuzzy, condensed vocals, the narrative of The Trap takes centre stage, enticing you further into its lusty atmosphere.

Progressing through the song, you’re hit with a rich atmosphere of organised chaos from all 360º. Ethereal backing vocals weave in and out of view alongside brash guitar strokes and ardent adlibs that suck you down the rabbit hole of SAINTES and to the track’s tremendous climax. The peak of The Trap sees a surge of electricity hit each element of the composition, inspiring the instrumentation to wrap around one another in a viciously endearing grace; all taking the lead without outshining any existing elements.

The Trap (That Keeps You Close) proves that rock ‘n’ roll isn’t going anywhere. In fact, it’s here to bloody well stay in the safe hands of SAINTES. Celebrating the launch of the single this Friday (26th November) with SAINTES Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus at Shakespeare’s (Kelham Island, Sheffield), the gig will be pay as you feel on the door.

If you haven’t had chance to catch SAINTES yet then get yourselves down early doors to avoid disappointment, as these lads are only going to get harder and harder to catch.
