Pansy – Buried

By Libby Driscoll

Stateside indie dream-pop group Pansy channel vivid rays of shoegaze amongst an impressively light airiness in their latest release ‘Buried’.

Pansy – Buried

Released January 1st, ‘Buried’ is the first single off the band’s up and coming self-titled album. Comprised of Mat, Cam, Ben and Danny who are split between Detroit and Chicago, Pansy have still managed to produce a perfectly rounded single to showcase what is to come on their anticipated album.

A truly atmospheric whirl of sound awakens the band’s latest single. Joining with warm and resonant guitar chords and understated choral harmonies, ‘Buried’ immediately feels like something special. The devotion to detail makes itself apparent throughout the entirety of the track, through each harmonic element working through their own individual melodies and shining through where appropriate. The chorus loses its definition slightly as it doesn’t feel hugely thicker than the verses, but its impact on the music can be felt all the same.

Paired with a music video by Lin Foust, the visuals precisely embody the radiance of the single. Overlapping films weave within pastel-coloured, kaleidoscopic graphics dreamily capturing the floaty ambience of the music.

Pansy have effortlessly showed the world what they’re about with ‘Buried’. The anticipation generated towards the album will without a doubt be felt strongly amongst their listeners and new fans alike. Until then, check out ‘Buried’ and keep up to date with Pansy below.
